Superstock Food Services Tipping Competition (AFL)

Conditions

1. Variables

General

1.1. Resident of: Australia
1.2. Minimum age: 18 years

Dates/Times:

The competition will commence on Friday, 17th February 2012
1.4. The competition will contain 24 separate Weeks for entry ("Tipping Weeks") corresponding to the 24 Weeks of matches of the AFL 2012 football season, excluding Finals (known as the "Regular Season").
1.4.(a). The Weeks of matches for the Regular Season are set out on the Tipping pages of the Superstock Food Services Tipping Competition website. Postponed, rescheduled or delayed matches will have their match times updated during the season to become part of the next appropriate Tipping Week in which the match will be played.
1.4.(b). The deadline for each Tipping Week ("Deadline") will be specified on the "Current Round" page in the Tipping Competition section of the Superstock Food Services website. Unless otherwise specified, the deadline will be 4:00pm WST the day of the commencement of the first match in each Week.
1.4.(c). The day following the completion of each Tipping Week of matches, the winner(s)’ names for the corresponding Tipping Week will appear on the Ladder page of the Tipping Competition section of the Superstock Food Services website, and will also be notified by Superstock Food Services via email.
1.4.(d). The name of the overall competition winner will appear on the Superstock Food Services Tipping Competition website one week ofter the season finishes.
1.5. The competition will close the day before the first game of round 23 (which is TBC).

2. Who May Enter

The only persons who may enter and be awarded prized are owners and or employees of customers of Superstock Food Services Pty Ltd. Customers are individuals or companies who have purchased and continue to purchase a minimum of $500 of stock from Superstock Food Services Pty Ltd during each month of the promotional period and are not bound by delivery contracts or supply contract including those arranged through Countrywide Australasia Ltd.

3. Entrants Bound By Conditions

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions.

4. How To Enter

4.1. To enter, entrants must complete the competition registration form on the Superstock Food Services Tipping Competition website, read these conditions and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Entrants must select a valid username and password at the time of registration. Entrants must enter their username and password each time they access the Tipping Competition section of the Superstock Food Services website. Entrants must select both:
- the winning team or a draw for each match in a Tipping Week before the Tip cut-off deadline for the Tipping Week in question; and
- the difference between the final scores (the “Margin”) of their Tipped winning team and the other team playing the nominated match (known as the “Margin Match”) in the free text box next to that match before the Tip cut-off deadline for the Tipping Week in question.

4.2. It is a condition of the awarding of each prize that the winner must, if requested to do so by the Promoter, sign and return any Affirmation of Eligibility to Enter, Ownership of Entry, Release and Compliance statements provided to the winner by the Promoter. The failure to return the signed statements will result in the entitlement to the prize being forfeited and the selection of another winner.

5. Limitations On Entry

There is a limit of one entry per email address and one entry per person.

6. Duration

6.1. This competition commences at the date specified in Condition 1.3.
6.2. Entries for each Tipping Week must be received by the relevant Deadline, as set out in Condition 1.4.
6.3. The competition closes on the time and date specified in Condition 1.5.

7. Selection Of Winners

7.1. Entrants will be awarded points in each Tipping Week as follows;

Pick a winning team correctly 1 point
Pick a draw 1 point
Pick an incorrect Tip 0 points
Non submission of Tips Registered entrants are automatically assigned "Away" teams for that Tipping Week and points, if any, are awarded accordingly. All Correct Bonus Points are not awarded to Non-Submitter’s should all Away Teams win in a Week.
Late entry The average of all existing registered entrants scores, at the time of registration, minus 5 points.

 

7.2. Weekly Winner: each Tipping Week, the entrant who has Tipped and scored the highest number of points for that Tipping Week (calculated in accordance with the method set out in clause 7.1 above) will be the “Weekly Winner”. In the event that there is a tie between entrants with the same highest number of points for that Tipping Week, the Weekly Winner will be the entrant who has correctly Tipped the Margin Match and selected the Margin equal to or closest to but less than the actual Margin of the Margin Match of the Tipping Week in question. In the event that there is still a tie between entrants, the entrant who saved their last Tips for that Tipping Week first, will be declared the Weekly Winner (the last Tips Saved time is shown underneath each Week’s saved Tips).

7.3. Overall Winner: At the completion of the Regular Season, the entrant with the overall highest number of total points (calculated in accordance with the method set out in clause 7.1 above) will be the “Overall Winner”. In the event of a tie for the overall highest points, the Overall Winner will be the entrant who has correctly Tipped the Margin Match and selected the Margin equal to or closest to but less than the actual Margin of the Margin Match of the last Tipping Week. In the event that there is still a tie between entrants, the entrant who saved their last Tips for that Tipping Week first, will be declared the Overall Winner (the last Tips Saved time is shown underneath each Week’s saved Tips).

8. Prizes

8.1. Weekly Winner prize: $20 Myer gift voucher
8.2. Overall Winner prize: Grand Final Package including Airfares, accommodation & grand final tickets valued at $6,000
8.5. Total value of all prizes: $9,500 (Please see click here for full prize list)
8.6. All prize items are valued inclusive of GST and the Promoter takes no responsibility for any variations in item values. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. In the event of that any prize item is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize item of equal or greater value. Any taxes which may be payable as a consequence of a winner receiving the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
8.7. Unclaimed prizes will be held for three months.

9. No Quality, Etc, Representations/Exclusion Of Liability

9.1. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability/merchantability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered or sustained, to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter, or its servants or agents, in connection with the arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winner and, where applicable, to any family/persons accompanying the winner.

9.2. The winner and his or her guests must sign and return any liability release provided by the Promoter and/or its contractors as a condition of the prize being awarded. A parent or guardian who signs any liability indemnity provided by the Promoter as a condition of the prize being awarded must accompany a winner and any guests under 18 years. Failure to return the signed releases and indemnities will result in the entitlement to the prize being forfeited and the selection of another winner.

9.3. This clause does not affect, and is not intended to affect, any rights a consumer might have, which are not able to be excluded under applicable Australian consumer protection laws. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of the Promoter or its servant or agents for breach of any such rights is limited to the payment of the cost of having the prize supplied again.

10. Winner Notification And Publication

The winner will be notified by email, using the details provided in their entry, and the name of the winners will be published as specified in Condition 1.4

11. Ownership Of Entries

All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter.

12. Publicity

The winner consents to the use of his or her name, suburb of residence and image for promotional and marketing purposes and agrees to participate in reasonable promotional activities as requested by the Promoter.

13. Internet

If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON A WEBSITE, OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION, MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT, THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

15. Headings

The headings in these Conditions are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

16. Entire Conditions

These conditions constitute the entire agreement of the parties relating to the entry and the conduct of the competition.
